Switch
The mechanism under the keycap. Linear, tactile and clicky describe its action.
Stabilizer
A support that helps wide keys such as Space and Enter move evenly.
Hot-swap
A compatible socket lets you remove and install a switch without soldering. Check the board's exact socket and switch system.
Layer
A second set of key actions reached with a modifier or function key. Small boards use layers for keys they do not dedicate space to.
PCB
The circuit board beneath the switches. It determines electrical and layout support for that particular build.
